Dear God.
I want it. If NCSoft can make such a great collector's edition, I wonder what Diablo 3 will look like.
And damn you Chinese beta, now I can't decide what to get - pre-ordered Collector's Aion or Collector's Diablo 3.

Yeah, no matter how much I like Aion at the moment, 10 years of Diablo 2 is probably more important.

That is very very very worrying imho. Obviously I don't have all the fact, but it just doesnt look good to me.

Didn't GW's special editions give infinite amount of weapons for characters? Warhammer also had stat boosting ring and a special camp for fast HP regeneration.
I bet those "bonus stats" are pitifully weak at higher levels.

So... after checking the official Aion website again, I still don't see any information on whether it does indeed have no monthly fee. It says nothing either way, which is a good sign that they're on the fence, or were at least when the website was created. They would definitely highlight no monthly fee if that was their final decision.

Thats what I'm hoping, sort of an "Igneous Summoning Stone" type deal. Oh well we can only wait to so. I have high hopes for Aion.

This is from Aion's faq
Quote:
How much will Aion cost?
We anticipate Aion will be similar to our other subscription-based games, featuring a boxed product and associated subscription fees.

The game does have fees - Chinese one has time cards, 10 hours, 20 hours, 30 hours and up to 600~ hours. That's good for the casual players, as this mean they can play for example 2 hours every day for 5 days and pay only $2. Those more demanding people always can get 94 hours for $12.
But I guess the US and EU will have more sane, that is NORMAL system $15/12 euro for a month.

ok
Don't preorder (yet)!
Is this what Ayase twittered about yesterday (and I retweeted)? Perhaps NCsoft has something more important to share with us than the contents of Aion's Collector's Edition next week? Perhaps they will tell us which retailers get which special items (for instance, GameStop gets the Ancient Ring of Fire while BestBuy gets...the Ancient Earring of Flying Simians)? Perhaps they'll also give us a release date and overhaul the official website's entire look and feel? Wait, no, that's impossible. It couldn't be that easy.
In other news...NCsoft's Korea's CEO is sitting pretty again and Shanda is giving even more free time away to noobs (their words) in an attempt to get even more people hooked. Is it working? Probably. The population of 100+ servers can't be wrong, can they? We'll find out soon enough.
taken from aionsource btw.
so i might wait til next week and see what best buy has to offer. i did pay for some time on qion along with 10 or so friends .
its about 18 bucks 10 play 8 hours a day 7 days a week lol for a month. so it really isnt that bad.
as far as d3 goes no beta planned n o new info really just old things they never showed and decided to show us d3 is more vaporware then guildwars2 is lol.
example of nlizzard startcraft 2 was soppose to come out last year then they decided to split the game up into 3 parts and frist part coming out late this year.. and now they pushed it til sometime in 2010. dont except d3 til after sc2 is out. then yo might get abeta then have another 2 year put off on the game. one reason i hate wow and everything blizzard comes out with

In any case... anticipate? Perhaps I'm being overly hopeful, but from what I gather of their revenue from the new add-ons from Guild Wars, they made quite a bit of money, even for the industry. Perhaps they will try a similar system (with better implementation right from the start) so that they won't turn away customers from the game and NCSoft. Perhaps in addition to or in lieu of traditional expansion packs, they'll release smaller packs for Elite Areas, special Gear, etc, and charge more $ per amount of content than a $50-60 expansion. It's a proven fact that gamers have brand loyalty, and the more NCSoft games we have, the more we're likely to buy. I suppose this decision will depend on how their finances are looking for the next couple years, since while it has the potential to attract many more customers with the transactions payment method, it could easily backfire and take its toll on NCSoft's profit margins.

I don't even know where to being correcting this junk.
So instead, I laugh. But okay...
a) It's Blizzard - they never give unfinished games that can still be improved.
b) I don't remember any Guild Wars 2 in-game screenshots, informations about professions, GAMEPLAY VIDEOS or anything except for concept art (few, very few) and some hints in GWEN.
c) Diablo 3 not only has screenshots, tons of concept art, lore, 3 professions, but also... three or four gameplay videos. One barbarian, one witch doctor, one wizard and one.... archivist.
d) even Duke Nukem Forever is less of a vaporware. At least they have shown some recent gameplay videos xD
...Which is more proof than GW2's silence.

I would rather pay for hourly time cards like these.
I like the CE goodies for this game and will end order it if the price is ok.

Arenanet is definitely running out of time to convince me to *not* buy this instead of GW2.
I absolutely loved the beta. It looks SIGNIFICANTLY better than GW and ran a lot better, too. The controls were amazing and there was little to no lag, even though I was playing on Chinese servers. This is the first MMO sans GW when it first came out that has my strong interest....I'm waiting a few weeks to see other retailers special deals, but I think I'm pretty solidly locked into to buy the C.E.....can't wait.
